Grading & Leveling

Grading & Leveling in Central Oregon

GPS machine control and laser-verified grades for building pads, drainage, and compliance.

Grade is where rework hides. We don't eyeball it — Wright Excavation runs GPS machine control and laser grade checks so your pads, slopes, and drainage hit spec on the first pass, and your build stays on schedule.

What's Included

Our grading and leveling work covers:

  • Rough and finish grading
  • Building-pad preparation
  • GPS machine-controlled grading
  • Laser-verified elevation checks
  • Drainage slopes and swales
  • Driveway and access grading
  • Compaction to engineered spec
  • Grading to engineer or county plans

How We Work

We load your engineer's digital site plan straight into the machine — the data drives the blade. Self-leveling rotary lasers verify elevations across the whole site, so building pads and drainage plans sit exactly where they belong before anyone pours.

Why grade matters in the high desert

Central Oregon's flat-looking lots rarely drain themselves. With our short, intense storm events and clay-and-rock subgrade, a pad that's a half-inch off can pond water against a foundation. Precise grading — verified, not guessed — is the cheapest insurance you'll buy on the whole project.

Grading & Leveling — Common Questions

Do you use GPS grading equipment?

Yes. We run GPS machine control on our equipment and verify elevations with self-leveling rotary lasers, so grade is accurate to within fractions of an inch.

Can you grade to my engineer's plans?

Absolutely. We load digital site plans directly into our machines and grade to the engineered specs — pads, slopes, and drainage included.

Will proper grading help with drainage?

Yes — correct grade is the foundation of drainage. We build the slopes and swales that move surface water away from your structure before it becomes a problem.
